    Margot Singer is an American short story writer and novelist. Her book The Pale of Settlement won the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction in and her novel Underground Fugue was listed as "one of the most anticipated books by women in " by Elle Magazine.   Singer’s debut novel, Underground Fugue (Melville House, ), won the Edward Lewis Wallant Award for American-Jewish Fiction and was short-listed for the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature. Her book of linked stories, The Pale of Settlement (University of Georgia Press, ), won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction.

    Underground Fugue won the Edward Lewis Wallant Award for American Jewish fiction.
